What to do if you have had your identity stolen?
- Click here for helpful tips and action plans from the IRS. I highly advise for you to complete IRS Form 14039 that is mentioned in the article.
- I also advise you to get an IP PIN from the IRS. This is a 6-digit PIN that you will get the first of each year that has to be listed on your return before it can be processed. This may be a little headache each year, but at least it will protect you and keep anyone from using your SSN on a tax return.
